2016/17 Junior Coaching
This comprehensive coaching program is designed for juniors ages 6-16 to take
their game to the next level. Now past the "beginner" stage, this program is the next step to equip students by transferring skills learned onto the golf course, junior membership, and eventually competition levels.
Students will be placed into small groups based on age and skill level. Groups will meet weekly, for a total of three months per phase (note, winter is a 2-month phase). Some weeks may combine two weeks into one session in order to take the group onto the golf course to play 9 holes. Detailed schedules for each phase will be provided.
Group Lessons: Includes four 1 Hour Group Sessions per month (meeting weekly on Tuesdays or Thursdays) of 2-4 students, $125 per month. Additional 30-minute private sessions available at $40 each
Private Lessons: Four 30 minute private lessons per month, $140 per month
With a multi-phase system, we will target several aspects through the changing golf and tournament season to provide a total golf improvement program:
Fall: September-December 8th
Winter: January 17th-March 9th (8 Weeks, two-month phase)
Summer: July 1st-Aug 31st (no group classes, private lessons available)
Group Sessions: Tuesday or Thursday afternoons
Private Lessons: Private lessons will be scheduled with instructors.
Develop junior golfers into players of great character.
Teach juniors that the game of golf includes several elements, and to truly reach potential, all of these aspects must be addressed.
Provide a comprehensive program that addresses the requirements of improvement in changing golf seasons that follows Canada's Long Term Player Development Guide.
To further develop fundamental golf skills.
Transition skills learned into application on the golf course.
The program will cover several specialized golf topics, addressed at different seasons of the year. It is critical that each aspect is addressed at the appropriate time of year in order to maximize improvement. The comprehensive program includes:
Full Swing Analysis
Short Game Technique
Putting Stroke Assessment
How to Practice Effectively
Golf specific exercises will be included in each group session, based on the group's age and skill level.
The program will take place at the Chilliwack Golf Academy, located on the driving range of the Chilliwack Golf Club. Open to members and non-members of Chilliwack Golf Club.
The practice facilities at the Chilliwack Golf Club are ranked as some of the best the Fraser Valley has to offer. We will have access to the grass driving range, as well as the covered hitting area. We will also utilize the 100-yard practice hole, practice putting green, and golf course.
The Chilliwack Golf Academy Teaching Facility has two indoor year-round hitting bays, and is equipped with teaching technology among some of the best academies in the province, including V1 Video Analysis, FlightScope Launch Monitor, and K-Vest Biofeedback.
Students are expected to attend classes regularly, and be prepared for every session. Practicing outside of class is highly recommended. Students will also be required to have appropriate golf clubs, which will be evaluated by the instructor.

Policies and Payments
Students may start at any time, with a minimum 3 month (or one phase) commitment required. It is recommended that students start at the beginning of a phase, and to achieve the most benefit from the sessions, it is also strongly recommended to attend for the Fall, Winter and Spring sessions (one full season).
Payments will be made in full prior to the first meeting, or monthly (by post-dated cheques, credit card left on file, or CG&CC member account).
Fees will be pro-rated for students joining mid-month.
Make Up Policy: Students missing Group Sessions cannot be made up for any reason. In the rare case that a scheduled Group Session is cancelled due to weather, a make up session will be scheduled for the entire group. Private Lessons can be made up if at least 48 hours notice is given (ie, vacation, etc). Made up lessons will be scheduled during the same phase of original lesson only, and are subject to availability of the instructor. Lessons from previous phases cannot be carried over into other phases.
Some weeks will combine two one-hour sessions into one two-hour meeting in order to bring the group onto the golf course to play 9 holes.
